Hey, guys. I have a hypothetical question. If you have a friend who committed suicide, would you still pray for her?

If you answered no, then you don't seem like a good friend at all. Your friend just died and you won't even say a quick Our Father for her.

But even if you do pray for her, it's kinda pointless. You know that her soul would go straight to hell because she took her own life.

So where does that leave you?

Just asking. And I'm expecting answers from you.

You pray anyway. 'Cause there's nothing else you can do for her.

I would pray for her. I believe God's mercy and compassion is much stronger and greater than our expectations and/or fears (e.g. that someone's soul goes straight to hell if they take their life). If God sees into our hearts and knows us more than we know ourselves, God would understand the bigger picture--that is, all the circumstances that would drive someone to take their life (e.g. depression, the lack of support systems, not being in a healthy state of mind, etc.). That's just my opinion.
